Description

Each part of these lovely wall-hung planters are made with care and the highest quality ingredients. These live-edge hard wood slabs are hand mounted (with moss carefully woven in) with a living plant.

Arrive with wall-mounting bracket attached, and are surprisingly light.  Feel free to put them on an easel instead for a stunning desk ornament.  Made from beautiful cherry or poplar, these pieces are hand-selected and sanded to be silky soft, then polyurethaned with several coats to withstand moisture over time. Each is a work of art, and there will be variations in grain and knots, as well as plants and moss.

    Made in USA.

    Materials & Care

    Size: 28"h x 8"w

    Included:

    • Hand selected wood planter (cherry or poplar)
    • Bromeliad or Staghorn Fern
    • Chicken wire
    • Fresh moss
    • Proprietary plant mix
    • Care instructions
    • Wall mountain bracket (pre-attached)

    Care:

    • Bromeliads love bright indirect light and are best known for being epiphytes.  However, these bromeliads should only be watered every four to five days - if it's more arid you'll need to water it more, you should note.  Because they love humidity, these bromeliads are great for bathrooms and spas with big windows, but they'll thrive anywhere they receive the light and moisture they need.  A great pop of color wherever you like!
    • Staghorn ferns love bright indirect light and are best known for being epiphytes, plants that derive moisture and nutrients from the air and rain.  They are generally found growing harmlessly on tree trunks, branches, or rocks, where tropical rains provide moisture and wash nutrients into the root area.  Water every three days by soaking for two minutes.

We recommend: Use a plant mister to keep moist.

“Once the day is done, there is always beer in the fridge, chips and dip laying about, and stories to share.”

Good things come in small packages for Michelle Inciarrano and Katy Maslow, who founded Brooklyn-based Twig Terrariums together. “We are obsessed with making these miniature gardens, and do not understand any other way since we started,” says Michelle. “We revel in them.” The childhood friends, who lost touch with each other for a decade before reconnecting with craft nights, find the same joy in working together in their studio (complete with a 14-foot paper mache tree!). It’s a sense of lightness they like to share with their staff. They may work hard growing a small business, “but once the day is done,” says Michelle, “there is always beer in the fridge, chips and dip laying about, and stories to share.”
